July 2, 2012 by Beth Kanter

After I finished teaching an intensive Networked NGO workshop for Packard family planning grantees in Delhi,  I headed to Bangalore to visit my friend and colleague, Rufina Fernandes where I conducted a social media workshop for staff and teachers and got see a start up education  company and its CSR program, close up.  I met Rufina in 2008 in Australia when I keynoted the Connecting Up Conference and taught social media workshops for NGOs.  At the time, Rufina was the CEO of Nasscom Foundation … [Read more...]

TechCamp: Empowering Women Through Technology

June 29, 2012 by Beth Kanter

Note from Beth: With all the travel I've been doing, I was hoping that I could sync my schedule with attending TechCamp, a program under Secretary Clinton’s Civil Society (CS) 2.0 initiative – an effort to galvanize the technology community to assist civil society organizations (CSOs) across the globe by providing capabilities, resources and assistance to harness the latest information and communications technology (ICT) advances to build their digital capacity.    Unfortunately, that was not … [Read more...]

After finishing a four-day intensive training in Delhi for the Networked NGO, I stayed on a few days in India to visit colleague, Rufina Fernandez, who I met when she was the CEO of the Nasscom Foundation when she brought me to India to speak at the leadership conference and teach workshops back in 2010.   When Rufina heard through Facebook that was coming to India, she insisted that I come to Bangalore and see some of the social change with technology projects she is working on or connected … [Read more...]

A Profile in Forbes Online by Shel Israel

June 26, 2012 by Beth Kanter

I was thrilled to be featured in Forbes Online in Shel Israel's online column.    The profile is here.  Shel talks about my early days in social media fundraising, my passion for teaching, learning, and sharing - as well as cupcakes and Cambodia.     If you read the profile, you'll also discover the many benefits of collaborating on a book with KD Paine and her editor, William Paarlberg:   Learn to love measurement and become a better writer in the process.  My next book, Measuring the Networked … [Read more...]
