Today is my birthday! To celebrate, rather than eat cake, I’m fundraising for the Nonprofit Technology Enterprise Network (NTEN). Please consider donating to the fundraiser with colleague Cindy Leonard.
I have worked in the nonprofit sector for 35 years. In 1992, I had the honor of having a front row seat at the creation of a field – how nonprofits can use the Internet for mission driven work. In those days, I was working with the New York Foundation for the Arts on a project called ArtsWire, an online network for arts organizations and artists. My work was as a trainer, to teach people who to use these tools strategically.
Back in the old days, there was a very small community of peer that I could ask questions and learn from — we had a listserv! That small community evolved into the organization – NTEN – the association for nonprofit techies. Cindy and I are just two of over 70,000 individuals in the NTEN community who helped by NTEN’s many services and programs to carry out our professional work.
We are raising money for NTEN to help ensure that nonprofits can access the resources, events, and community they need to make smart choices in technology.
The money we are raising as part of this community power campaign will help NTEN:
- Bring in new members that may not be able to cover the cost of NTEN Membership
- Ensure a diverse range of organizations can attend the NTC through scholarships
- Support our worldwide Tech Clubs with more materials to enhance their experience
- Develop new programs and resources for NTEN’s growing community
It takes a community to raise a nonprofit! Please donate today to help NTEN build a stronger network of nonprofit professionals that do more with less by leveraging technology to support their work. Donate now!
