One Simple Secret to Social Media Success: Post Consistent Content Your Audience Loves

July 10, 2012 by Beth Kanter

Post consistent content that your audience loves and your social media will be successful.   Is it that simple?  Yes and no.    Using best practices and tips based on research can help you improve.  But if you want to get better results, you need a content strategy, strong creation and curation skills, and a  robust measurement process.   And the latter is not about gathering data - it is about making sense of it and using it to continually improve. Using Facebook Groups for Deeper Engagement with Audience or Your Peers

July 6, 2012 by Beth Kanter

Note from Beth: Facebook Groups can be used to help build communities and for deeper engagement and learning with your audience or peers.   I've been using Facebook groups to projects that are focused on peer learning and I have set up groups of colleagues to provide just in time support.    Facebook Groups can also help nonprofits build community or be used to support and rally champions for your cause.   Earlier this week, NTEN hosted a chat on the topic and the unedited transcript is here … [Read more...]

TechCamp: Empowering Women Through Technology

June 29, 2012 by Beth Kanter

Note from Beth: With all the travel I've been doing, I was hoping that I could sync my schedule with attending TechCamp, a program under Secretary Clinton’s Civil Society (CS) 2.0 initiative – an effort to galvanize the technology community to assist civil society organizations (CSOs) across the globe by providing capabilities, resources and assistance to harness the latest information and communications technology (ICT) advances to build their digital capacity.    Unfortunately, that was not … [Read more...]
