During the months leading up to the most contentious election in recent history, the media coined a new term “election stress.”  Post election many nonprofit have been feeling the impact of “election trauma,” and many individuals report cutting back on Facebook and other social media due to being overwhelmed.  The bottom line that nonprofits need to adapt to a new reality.
Being adaptive requires resilience and building up that muscle means practicing self-care as a nonprofit professional and bringing a culture of well-being into your nonprofit workplace.    I never thought in a million years that my new book, The Happy Healthy Nonprofit: Strategies for Impact Without Burnout, co-authored with Aliza Sherman would be this timely for the nonprofit sector.
The Happy Healthy Nonprofit: Strategies for Impact Without Burnout provides a practical roadmap for getting better results from mission-based, social change work by paying closer attention to individual and organizational well-being.  I’ve been excited to add ideas covered in the book and sharing the inspiring stories of nonprofit organizations have created a sense of well-being in the office such as Issue One, Opening Act,  Sierra Club, Crisis Text Line, Crisis Response Network, and Pathways to Education Canada into my training practice for workshops.
If you are feeling stressed and need a refresher on self-care tips or need some surefire tips on how your nonprofit (whether small or large) can bring well-being into the workplace, we have two free webinars coming up in December.
