We are just weeks away from the launch of the Happy Healthy Nonprofit: Impact without Burnout, my third book, co-authored with Aliza Sherman.    Yesterday,  I was honored to deliver the ending keynote, "From Self-Care to We-Care" at the Stanford Nonprofit Management Institute.    The interactive keynote had 300 nonprofit leaders take and discuss the nonprofit burnout assessment and brainstorm self-care ideas to put into practice.  Here's some of the takeaways shared on Twitter. During the q/a, … [Read more...]

Last week I was honored to be a counselor at Museum Camp, an annual professional development event hosted by the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH). Each year they bring together diverse, passionate people for a sleep-away camp for adults where they  learn together through active, creative workshops and activities.  Since the theme this year was "Change Making," I taught a workshop on self-care for change makers based on my forthcoming book, The Happy Healthy Nonprofit, co-authored … [Read more...]

We're approaching Labor Day Weekend.  The Labor Day holiday is more than just the signal to the end of summer and a relaxing three-day weekend.  The Labor Day Holiday, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers.    You may be familiar Goodwill as a place to shop, but the nonprofit does much more including helping people find jobs.    In honor of Labor Day, Goodwill launches the #LaborofLove … [Read more...]
